Before they join NBC’s “The Voice” as coaches next season, Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani got acquainted with their new family on Monday’s top 8 performance show.
Clad in a Mickey Mouse sweater and hat, Pharrell served up his latest G I R L single “Come Get It Bae” before Gwen and her girls marched to the stage to deliver her 2004 Pharrell-produced hit “Hollaback Girl,” on which she was joined by the man himself.
“Make some noise for the queen,” said Pharrell, who received a standing ovation from current coaches Usher, Shakira, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton.
Pharrell and Gwen will fill in for CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera on season 7 of the singing competition. “It’s such an amazing platform to be able to speak to the rest of the world,” he told Carson Daly.
Go B-A-N-A-N-A-S for their performance.
