DJ E-Z Rock, best known for ‘It Takes Two’ with Rob Base, dead at 46

The pair were known for their 1988 iconic hit 'It Takes Two,' which has been named to the 50 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs of All Time, according to Rolling Stone magazine.

Harlem rapper Rodney Bryce, better known as DJ E-Z Rock, died on Sunday. He was 46.
The veteran musician's collaborator and friend Rob Base confirmed E-Z Rock's death but no further information has been released.
The pair were known for their 1988 iconic hit 'It Takes Two,' which has been named to the 50 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs of All Time, according to Rolling Stone magazine.

The duo's first single was “DJ Interview,” but it was 'It Takes Two' that propelled them to fame.
The song was sampled by many rap stars including Snoop Dogg, soundtracked in the 2004 Grand Theft Auto video game and featured in Sandra Bullock's 2009 comedy “The Proposal.”
Many hip-hop artists paid tribute and offered condolences to the DJ on social media.
DJ Scratch posted a late-Eighties picture of the duo on his Instagram, while Biz Markie tweeted, "R.I.P. to EZ Rock from Rob Base and EZ Rock. You will truly be missed."
"We Have Lost Our Very Own From Harlem NYC & The Hip-Hop Culture Our Brother DJ E-Z Rock. Rest In Peace,” DJ Red Alert also wrote.
