As Johnny Manziel Takes a Hit, So Does Cleveland

CLEVELAND — This city began Sunday shrouded in fog and brimming with expectation. Ever since Browns Coach Mike Pettine had announced a change at quarterback, the wait had been excruciating, the five days passing like a kidney stone.
Four hours before kickoff, fans streamed into the parking lots ringing FirstEnergy Stadium, arriving early to immerse themselves in the communal experience of preparing for the unknown.
They came to watch their beloved Browns engage in that phenomenon alien to northeast Ohio, meaningful mid-December football. They also came to watch an elusive, unconventional, reckless, exuberant and wholly unpredictable rookie who might — or might not — yet be their savior at quarterback.
They came for Johnny Manziel.
So did the Cincinnati Bengals, who contained him in the pocket, turned his confidence into indecision and celebrated sacks and pass deflections by mocking him, making the symbol for money that Manziel uses in his touchdown celebrations. They rubbed their fingers together so often that they might have worn holes in their gloves.

Kobe Bryant passes Michael Jordan for third in points

MINNEAPOLIS — By Kobe Bryant standards, it was an average offensive night in an unfriendly building a long way from home. But in this contest between two teams headed nowhere, the Los Angeles Lakers star recorded a milestone that had fans on their feet cheering anyway.
With a pair of free throws in the second quarter Sunday evening, Bryant moved up one notch on the all-time NBA scoring ledger, taking over third place and passing Michael Jordan.
Bryant, 36, entered Sunday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves needing nine points to surpass Jordan, who had 32,292 points over 15 seasons. He passed Jordan by making both his free throws after being fouled by T'wolves rookie Zach LaVine on a drive with 5 minutes, 24 seconds left before halftime
As opposed to most other NBA arenas, where Bryant is the object of most fans derision, there was a warm reception for the milestone baskets, including roars from dozens in Lakers jerseys.
"It was different," Bryant said. "I'm so used to being the villain all the time on the road it took a minute to kind of adjust. It felt good to be appreciated like that."
Bryant finished with 26 points as the Lakers won their third in a row 100-94. With the game tied 94-94, Bryant hit a fall-away three-pointer with 1:02 left, putting the Lakers up for good. His free throw with 20.4 seconds on the clock was his final point of the night, and now has 32,310 career points.
The 19-year veteran only trails Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387) and Karl Malone (36,928) on the scoring list.

Kourtney Kardashian Gives Birth to Her Third Child With Scott Disick

Kourtney Kardashian

Mason has a birthday twin! On the same day that Mason Disick turned five, Kourtney Kardashian gave birth to her third child with Scott Disick, a boy. This little guy also joins big sister Penelope, 2. The newest addition to the Kardashian brood was born on Sunday, December 14, sources confirm.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star had her pregnancy chronicled on camera, right from the moment she announced to a shocked Scott Disick that he was going to be a dad again. We also got the gender reveal on Kourtney and Khloe Take the Hamptons, when Mason announced he was getting a baby brother by bringing in a stick with a blue star on it.

Kourt graced the cover of the December/January issue of Fit Pregnancy, and revealed that her third child was due this month. She also said that she's not planning to get help for the newborn.
"I'm not getting a baby nurse," she confessed. "I take two months off and no one is allowed to bother me or talk to me about anything work-related -- or maybe three months this time."
She also said that even though her pregnancies haven't been easy, she still considers it a magical time, and when she's at her best. "I love being pregnant in general," she said. "This time I'm more tired than I was the other times. I think it's because I'm always running around and working on different things. But I feel comfortable with how I look and feel. I find a pregnant body to be beautiful and an incredible reminder of what a woman's body is made to do."
No name yet, but Kourtney did say back in October that she was "stuck" on finding the perfect name, and wanted to meet her new son before making a decision.
Congrats to the new family of five! Kourt is such a good mama, and we can't wait to see all the adorable snuggly baby pics!

Two residents at the Tiger Lodge complex said they heard at least six gun shots after midnight as a party raged in an adjacent building and in the parking lot, where one bystander told AL.com up to 100 people scattered as the gun fire split the night air.
"I heard people running down the stairs and then lights everywhere," said George Morgan, 38, who lives in the complex. "It was like cockroaches when the lights come on."
